New ACCVB Headquarters

In 2001, the county commissioners took advantage of legislation that provided a small window of opportunity to create a Facilities Authority.

Shea’s Theater Redevelopment

The historic Shea’s Theater in Ashtabula was purchased in July of 2023. The property is being restored, with the aim of creating a new theater and community space on the first floor, with office space on the second floor.

SPIRE Academy Program Expansion

The SPIRE Academy near Geneva is currently working to expand its programming to fill slower periods of the year, such as spring and early summer. Recent events have included the first Mixed Martial Arts Fight Night and the Cincinnati Circus.

ARMC Patient Care Tower

The Ashtabula Regional Medical Center recently opened a new Patient Care Tower at its campus in Ashtabula. This four-story, $115 million building represents the largest construction project in the hospital’s history.

Atech Campus Expansion

Groundbreaking on a $12 million expansion of the Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus in Jefferson Township took place in June 2024. This project will create 25,000 square feet of new space and will be finished by fall 2025.

Pymatuning Lodging Upgrades

Pymatuning State Park is in the process of renovating and replacing its existing stock of rental cabins in Andover Township. Representing an investment of over $3.2 million in Ohio DNR funds, this project is slated for completion in fall 2025

Pymatuning State Park Investments

Over $27 million has been invested at Pymatuning State Park over the past 12 years. This will include replacement of the Espyville Marina, replacement of the Jonestown Beach Building, and a 1.5-mile extension of the Spillway Bicycle Trail.

Greenway Trail Development

Work is currently underway on the Pymatuning Valley Greenway Trail in Ashtabula County. Funded largely by the Ohio Department of Transportation, this project will be completed in sections over the next several years.
